l Pietro Crespi- leaves rebeca and goes to Amaranta
l Jose Arcadio Buendia- after all wasn’t as crazy as people said he was
III. Plot summary
Aureliano and Remidios get married. However she dies suddenly possibly by miscarriage. An organized religion comes to Macondo and tries to build a church. When the priest saw Jose Buendia he said that he wasn’t going crazy and that he is not speaking gibberish but pure Latin. After a while Jose Arcadio who left and never came back for a while came back looking so masculine with tatooes. Rebeca got really attracted to him and although she was engaged she started having an affair with him. Aureliano who resigned him to solitude leaves at the head of a small liberal army and he becomes known as Colonel Aureliano Buendia, and becomes the leader of liberal armies.
IV. Quotes
l “And there was so much of a home for you, my son” pg. 91 It interesting because instead of getting angry and asking what he was doing he still cared for him.
l “War. And don’t call me Aurelito anymore. Now I’m colonel Aureliano Buendia” pg.101 I like this because It seems like he suddenly got emotionally stronger and courage.
V. Themes
l Lust affair- Rebeca gets attracted to jose Arcadio who just came back. As a result she lost Crespi
